P5-M worth of shabu seized in Caloocan, Tuguegarao operations

Government anti-narcotics agents seized almost P 5 million worth of shabu in separate operations in Caloocan City and Tuguegarao City on Tuesday, Dec. 3. 

In Caloocan City, operatives of the Drug Enforcement Group of the Philippine National Police (PDEG) arrested a 41-year old man whom it described as a high-value target in Caloocan City.

Seized from him during the operation in a mall in Barangay 72 were half kilo of shabu valued at P3.4 million, according to PDEG director Brig. Gen. Eleazar Matta.

He said the arrested suspect and the non-drug evidences are in their custody  while the seized drug evidence will be turned over to PNP Forensic Group, for laboratory examination.

“This buy-bust operation serves as a strong reminder to criminal syndicates that the PNP is relentless in its mission to combat drug trafficking. Each operation is a step closer to a safer and drug-free community, and we will continue to pursue these criminals with determination and resolve,” said Matta.

In Tuguegarao City, agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) seized around P1.5 million worth of shabu in the implementation of three search warrants.

In the conduct of the operation, PDEA agents arrested Hadji Abdullah Panda and Hadja Ainna Panda after they yielded nine plastic sachets containing shabu in  Barangay Centro 10.

Alimbasar Panda was arrested after he yielded more or less 100 grams of shabu while Mohammad Iqbal Regaro was also collared when PDEA agents found 15 grams of shabu in his possession. (with reports from Chito Chavez)
