Police arrested almost 1,700 wanted individuals amid the intensified operations against fugitives in Central Luzon in the past two months.
Brig Gen. Redrico Maranan, director of the Police Regional Office 3, said the series of operations against wanted individuals was in compliance with the order of national police chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil to intensify police actions against criminal elements.
“Our successful operations should serve as a warning that the region is not safe for wanted criminals. We will continue our aggressive operations to ensure peace and order in Central Luzon,” said Maranan.
Of the 1,696 wanted persons arrested, Maranan said 14 of them are in the region’s most wanted list while 81 were listed in the provincial wanted list. A total of 163 others were listed in the municipal and city level lists.
Maranan lauded his men for exerting more efforts in running after wanted criminals and in ensuring that anti-crime prevention measures are in place, especially for the Christmas season.
Earlier, the Central Luzon regional office reported that it reduced the crime volume by 66 percent for the month of November this year.
