Septuagenarian yields guns in Nueva Vizcaya


CAMP MARCELO A. ADDURU, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – Police recovered unlicensed guns, accessories, and bullets from a septuagenarian during a search warrant operation in Barangay Inaban, Dupax del Norte, Nueva Vizcaya on Thursday, Nov. 28.

The suspect was identified as Cledera, 76, widow, and air gun repairman.

Cledera yielded 14 caliber .38 revolvers, eight caliber .22 revolvers, two caliber .32 revolvers, one caliber .22 rifle, three shotgun barrels, a caliber 5.56 rifle barrel, one caliber .30 barrel, four M-14 magazine assembly, nine bolt assembly, seven rifle scopes, 20 caliber 7.62 bullets, 51 caliber 5.56 bullets, 200 caliber .22 bullets, four long caliber .32 bullets, four caliber .38 bullets, and Garand rifle bullet.

Police Brig. Gen. Antono P. Marallag Jr., Police Regional Office-2 chief, commended operating units for their achievement. 

The suspect faces a case for violating Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
