Tractor driver killed in Bacolod crash


BACOLOD CITY – A 59-year-old driver was killed and a helper was injured when the tractor they were riding plunged off a cliff in Hacienda Loygoy, Barangay Granada here on Wednesday, Nov. 6.

Police Capt. Portia Nillosan, head of Police Station 5, identified the victim as Mario Tandog of Barangay Granada.

Nillosan said that Tandog and his two helpers were on their way to a cattle farm to gather organic fertilizer when the tractor’s brake malfunctioned.

The tractor rolled backwards, overturned, and plunged into a cliff.

One of the helpers managed to jump off the tractor while the other was thrown out.

Tndog was trapped on the driver’s seat and died. His body was later retrieved by rescuers.

The injured helper was taken to a hospital. while his companion was unharmed.
