He talked about discovering more of the Philippines’ islands in his post on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, Nov. 2.
“Always a great pleasure to discover the beautiful landscape of the (Philippines): Bohol and its natural wonders, Chocolate hills and Tarsier sanctuary. What a nice place to be! #lovethePhilippines,” he wrote.
The ambassador also posted photos of the Chocolate Hills, as well as of the tarsier. In one of the photos, he was seen pointing at the majestic hills of Bohol.
The Chocolate Hills are geological formation located at the center of the tiny island that go brown in color during the dry season, so they end up looking like chocolate kisses or truffles.
The hills themselves are not very high as they just range from 100 feet to 165 feet in height, although the largest one was recorded at 395 feet tall.
There are no clear count as to how many hills there are, though some reported them between 1,268 and 1,776.
The Philippine Tarsier Sanctuary, on the other hand, aims to save the Philippine tarsier, its habitat, and other wildlife.
