SM Supermalls, in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), hosted the Project DAPAT Job Fair to provide employment opportunities for displaced workers in the information technology (IT) and digital sectors.
The two-day event gathered 70 employers from various industries, including IT-BPO, retail, manpower services, hospitality, and overseas employment agencies.
It drew participation from 865 job seekers, with 136 individuals hired on the spot.
“At SM, we believe that each person hired positively impacts five individuals—the average number in a Filipino household. This is why we eagerly anticipate the continuous announcements of applicants who were hired-on-the-spot,” said Royston Cabunag, Assistant Vice President for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Job Fairs, and Government Services at SM Supermalls.
Since January, SM has organized over 170 job fairs in its malls nationwide, helping more than 100,000 job seekers connect with potential employers.
These initiatives have resulted in approximately 14,000 on-the-spot hires, reinforcing SM’s commitment to reducing unemployment and bolstering Filipino families through job creation.
