Vice Mayor April Aguilar, who led the social pension pay-out together with members of the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), said the recipients included 735 indigent senior citizens from Barangay Manuyo Uno and 316 from Barangay Daniel Fajardo.

Aguilar said the P6,000 financial assistance represents their social pension for the period covering July to December.

She said the funds were sourced from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) under the national government’s program to support the welfare of indigent senior citizens.

The Vice Mayor also said the initiative was aimed to assist the elderly in covering their basic expenses.

Aguilar said the city government remains committed to sustaining programs that benefit senior citizens by continuing to coordinate with the DSWD to provide essential services that improve the quality of life of the elderly and other vulnerable sectors of the community.
