Police seize shabu, gun from habal-habal driver in Taguig


A habal-habal driver, tagged as a high value individual by the police, was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Taguig on Nov. 26. 

The suspect, identified as alias Mike, 48, was apprehended during a police operation at about 11 p.m. in Barangay Central Bicutan. 

The Taguig Police Drug Enforcement Unit conducted the buy-bust operation and seized 50.2 grams of suspected shabu valued at P341,360, a 9mm revolver with five live rounds of ammunition, and buy-bust money consisting of a genuine P500 bill on top of five pieces of P1,000 boodle money.

The pieces of evidence were turned over to the Southern Police District Forensic Unit (SPDFU) for analysis. 

A complaint for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) is being prepared by the police against the suspect.
