The 25-year-old pride of Ifugao stakes his unbeaten 24-0 slate with 19 knockouts against unheralded opponent Ruben Tostado Garcia on Saturday, Nov. 30, in Tijuana, Mexico.

Martin, currently ranked second and seventh in the World Boxing Organization (WBO) and International Boxing Federation (IBF) junior featherweight rankings, respectively, is aiming for a strong closeout to the year.

How well Martin would perform will serve as a springboard for a potential title fight next year which his camp has long been priming him up for.

Martin is coming off a second round technical knockout victory over Mexican Anthony Jimenez Salas just last Sept. 7 in Sinaloa and he is now once again fighting on the opponent’s home turf against the 30-year-old veteran in Garcia.

Garcia has already fought through 42 fights with a 27-14-1 record with 10 KOs.

Meanwhile, Magsayo is also looking to end the year with a bang against a yet to be announced opponent.

The No. 3 ranked super featherweight fighter in the World Boxing Council (WBC) and WBO, and rated No. 5, in the World Boxing Association (WBA) and IBF, is hoping to boost his stock for a possible title fight as he searches for his third straight victory since moving up to the 130lbs division last year.

He is coming off a convincing unanimous decision victory over Mexican Eduardo Ramirez last June 24 to hike his record to 26-2 with 17 KOs.
