Sy-led logistics and sea transport provider 2GO swiftly resumed operations after recent typhoons, ensuring the continued flow of essential goods and restoring disrupted supply chains.
In a statement on Tuesday, Nov. 26, Sharon Musngi-Ngo, 2GO Sea Solutions business unit head, said the company's quick response helped to minimize the impact of the storms on businesses and communities.
“As a trusted partner for Filipino businesses, the company thrives in the competitive logistics landscape," Musngi-Ngo said.
"Its extensive freight and cargo operations are integral to supporting our stakeholders’ supply chains, despite occasional severe weather disturbances,” she added.
Once the Philippine Coast Guard cleared shipping routes, 2GO immediately transported 3,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) of essential goods, enabling businesses to remain operational and support communities nationwide.
The company moves 5,000 TEUs of goods weekly, offering customized solutions to meet the diverse needs of businesses.
2GO's ROPAX (roll-on/roll-off passenger) service, which prioritizes berthing and departure at 19 key ports, ensures the efficient movement of both goods and people. This service is crucial for connecting the archipelago's many islands.
Beyond logistics, 2GO provides safe and reliable transport for approximately 23,000 passengers weekly.
The company's latest 2024 passenger satisfaction survey indicated that nine out of 10 passengers are highly satisfied with their sea travel experience. Small and micro-business owners, in particular, benefit from a generous 50kg luggage allowance, facilitating the affordable transport of their goods.
“As we connect people and businesses across the Philippines, we also help entrepreneurs grow by supporting their journeys—whether they’re moving goods or tapping into new markets,” Francis Chua, 2GO Travel business unit head, said.
