P2-M marijuana uprooted in Benguet


CAMP DIEGO SILANG, La Union – Authorities discovered fully grown marijuana plants valued at P2 million during an eradication operation in Sitio Manggahan, Barangay Kayapa, Bakun, Benguet on Saturday, Nov. 23.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Region 1 (Ilocos) Director Joel Plaza said 10,400  fully grown marijuana plants were destroyed in three marijuana plantations with a total land area of more or less 1,550-square meters.

MARIJUANA plants were destroyed in Sitio Manggahan, Barangay Kayapa, Bakun, Benguet on Nov. 23.

Samples were brought to the PDEA-Region 1 headquarters in San Fernando City, La Union for proper documentation and disposition.

Last week, authorities also destroyed marijuana worth P2.6 million in six plantations in Sitio Manggahan with an aggregate land area of approximately 1,900-square meters.
