Tiffany and Co. heralds the holiday season with a grand Christmas tree in Makati City

‘A true gem of a tree’

How would you define the perfect holiday tree? Does it feature an array of baubles and decor? Does it shine with twinkling lights and tinsel? Or should it be so towering in size that it can be seen from miles away? For Tiffany and Co., the best Christmas tree is one that sparks joy and wonder—much like its luxurious trinkets nestled in its signature blue boxes.

That’s precisely what the American jewelry brand brings to the Philippines as it kicks off the Yuletide season with “a true gem of a tree.” For years, Greenbelt 5’s Fashion Square has been a prime location for luxury brands’ Christmas trees. This year, Tiffany and Co. takes center stage, illuminating the space with a stunning display.

Much like a diamond, the eight-meter-tall holiday tree features facets that glisten when touched by light. Glass gems and pink sapphires are recessed within its intricate design, while the base is adorned with 480 backlit glass prisms. Atop the tree sits the iconic Bird on a Rock, a design first introduced by the brand in 1965.

Upon closer inspection, the tree not only bears the Tiffany and Co. name but also features a cosmic design. Tiny lights mimic the beauty of the night sky, inviting everyone to dream and feel the festive spirit of the season. Leading the tree-lighting ceremony was Patrick Da Silva, the brand’s market director for Singapore and the Philippines.

“This is a true milestone and a proud moment for the Philippines, given that this holiday tree and event are the very first for Tiffany here in Southeast Asia,” Patrick said. “I couldn’t be happier to have it here at Greenbelt.”

Joining him in celebrating the event were friends of the brand, all adorned in Tiffany and Co.’s classic pieces. Beauty queen Michelle Dee and actor-singer James Reid graced the event wearing jewelry from the “Hardwear” collection. Pieces from the “Knot” line complemented the elegance of celebrities Kylie Verzosa and Sarah Lahbati, while stylist Liz Uy stood out in selections from the “Lock” collection. Also present at the unveiling were Mariana Zobel de Ayala, senior vice president of Ayala Land, Inc., and Paul Birkett, chief operating officer of Ayala Malls.

“It’s heartening to see all of you here to join us in kicking off our holiday festivities. At Tiffany, the holidays are such a central time for the brand,” Patrick shared. “We are filled with joy to have you with us for this magical moment as we illuminate the holiday season. Holidays are about showering your loved ones with love, joy, wonder, and—most decisively—a lovely gift from Tiffany!”
