Authorities confiscated ₱39 million worth of high-grade marijuana found in a package from Canada in Balagtas, Bulacan, on Wednesday, November 20.

According to the police report, a woman approached the Balagtas Municipal Police Station to report a suspicious package her husband had received via delivery service.
The shipment was sent by a certain “Paul” from Toronto, Canada, and it was addressed to her husband and intended for her imprisoned brother.
Suspecting the package was linked to her brother’s involvement in illegal drugs, the woman sought police assistance.
In response, the Balagtas police, along with barangay officials and Department of Justice (DOJ) personnel, inspected the shipment.
The authorities discovered 52 sealed plastic bags containing approximately 26 kilos of high-grade marijuana worth P39 million.
Police suspect that the shipment is tied to an international drug syndicate.
Investigations are ongoing to identify the other individuals involved and establish the full extent of the drug operation.
Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Redrico A. Maranan commended the swift action of the Balagtas police.
“This discovery is proof of our ongoing fight against drugs in the region. We are strengthening ties with communities to prevent illegal drug activities. This victory belongs not only to the police but also to the people in the fight against crime,” Maranan said.
He urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to authorities.
Maranan also emphasized that this operation underscores PRO3’s commitment to eradicating illegal drugs in the region and across the country.
