ILOILO CITY – The provincial government of Guimaras has approved a P1.1-billion budget for fiscal year 2025.

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (provincial board) approved the annual budget requested by Gov. JC Rahman Nava this week.
Nava has expressed optimism that the legislative branch will approve the budget which increased by P174.43 million or 18.34 percent compared to the fiscal year 2024.
Bulk will go to the general services sector with P455.4 million. The Dr. Catalino Gallego Nava Provincial Hospital in Jordan town will have a budget of P292.1 million.
A budget of P218.1 million has been allocated for the development fund. Social services have a budget of P197.3 million.
The economic sector has a budget of P135 million, debt servicing, P62.1 million; calamity fund, P56.2 million, and P980,000 as aid for barangays.
Vice Gov. John Edward Gando said the early approval of the budget ensures that the executive branch of the provincial government has a working budget by Jan. 1.
