Dalipe awards P300,000 incentive to Zamboanga City cops


ZAMBOANGA CITY – Mayor John Dalipe on Wednesday awarded P300,000 in cash incentives to the Zamboanga City Police Office Drug Enforcement Unit chief and two other police commanders for their accomplishments in the campaign against illegal drugs and crime here.

Police Capt. Royland Cordero, ZCPO Drug Enforcement Unit chief, received P100,000 after his team seized P13.2-million worth of illegal drugs in 17 anti-illegal drug operations.

Police Majors Benhar Salam and Joemar Calud received P100,000 each for the arrest of shooting suspects Peter Maningo and Jayson de Leon Velez.

Maningo was the suspect in the murder of habal-habal or motorized tricycle driver Edito Fernandez who was shot with an M-16 rifle in Barangay Tictapul on March 15.

Velez was accused of murdering his brothers Jaime and Jimboy inside their parents’ house in Barangay Ayala on Aug. 9.

Dalipe lauded ZCPO Director Police Col. Kimberly Molitas for their accomplishments.
