CAVITE – A farm caretaker in Naic reportedly ran off with the firearms of the farm owner and is now the subject of a hot pursuit operation.
A report from Regional Police Office 4A said the farm owner filed a theft complaint at the Naic Municipal Police Station (MPS) on Wednesday, Nov. 20.
Initial investigation showed that the victim only visits his farm twice a month, and the suspect, identified as alias Ram, had been working as a caretaker of the farm since July.
The victim’s last visit to his farm was on Nov. 7, when he placed his guns in an aluminum cabinet.
On Nov. 13, however, a neighbor called the victim to inform him that the caretaker was no longer at the farm.
Upon visiting his property on Nov. 20, the victim found the house locked from the outside and discovered that his pistol and rifle were missing, along with an electric jackhammer worth P10,000.
Authorities are now conducting a hot pursuit operation to collar the suspect.
