BPO industry surpasses 6,000 job vacancies nationwide—DOLE

The business process outsourcing (BPO) industry remains a top source of job vacancies nationwide, with over 6,000 positions available for qualified applicants, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) announced on Wednesday, Nov. 20.

Citing data from the Bureau of Local Employment (BLE), DOLE reported 6,560 job openings in various BPO roles from Nov. 1 to 7, as recorded in the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Employment Information System (PEIS) and PhilJobNet.

While BPO roles lead in job availability, other sectors also exhibit significant demand, with 4,265 vacancies for production workers, followed by 1,443 openings for domestic helpers.

Laborers were offered 1,234 job opportunities, while service crew positions rounded out the top five with 1,090 vacancies.

The BLE noted that the high demand for BPO workers reflects the sector's ongoing growth, while job openings in manufacturing, retail, and services highlight the diverse needs of the labor market.

As the BPO sector continues to offer competitive salaries and varied career opportunities, the demand for skilled workers across multiple sectors signals a strong and evolving labor market.

To assist job seekers, DOLE urged individuals to utilize the PEIS and PhilJobNet platforms for updated listings and to visit local PESO offices for job matching, career counseling, and recruitment assistance.
