The Muntinlupa City government will be giving financial assistance up to P1 million to local government units that were severely affected by super typhoon “Pepito.”
Councilor Raul Corro, majority floor leader of the Muntinlupa City Council, said residents should be thankful that the city was spared from the onslaught of “Pepito,” which devastated many areas in the country.
“We should be thankful to the Lord that the scenario we were expecting where Muntinlupa and Metro Manila will be hit by the strong typhoon ‘Pepito’ did not happen,” he said during the flag-raising ceremony at the Muntinlupa City hall quadrangle on Nov. 18. ‘
He said the City Council, on behalf of Mayor Ruffy Biazon, will pass a resolution to give financial assistance to the damaged areas.

The financial assistance will not only cover areas destroyed by “Pepito” but also “Nika.”
The recipients will be based on the record of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council and through the recommendation by Muntinlupa City Department of Disaster Resilience and Management.
The Muntinlupa City Council will provide the assistance ranging from P500,000 to P1 million, said Corro.
He said the financial assistance by the Muntinlupa City government was done during the time of former mayor Jaime Fresnedi.
