The initiative was aimed at assisting those impacted by recent natural disasters, including the ashfall from Mt. Mayon and the severe effects of Tropical Storm Kristine.

A substantial portion of the assistance—P2 million—was allocated to Albay Province, which has been dealing with the aftermath of last year’s Mt. Mayon ashfall and the recent impact of Tropical Storm Kristine.

The assistance was received by Governor Baby Glenda Ong, who expressed her gratitude for the support extended to her constituents.

Naga City, which faced extensive flooding from Tropical Storm Kristine, received P500,000. Mayor Nelson Legacion and Municipal Administrator Joselito Del Rosario accepted the assistance as they underscored the vital role of community resilience in overcoming challenges.

Additionally, Talisay, Batangas, was given P500,000 to assist the victims of the recent landslides caused by the storm, which claimed several lives. Mayor Nestor Natanauan, along with Municipal Administrator Alfredo Anciado and MDRRMO Mark Panganiban, thanked the BPG for the timely support.

The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) headed by Manuel Lukban, Jr., coordinated the relief effort, with Division Heads Ma. Luisa Tapican and Bryan Cyro Velasco in overseeing the fund distribution to ensure that the aid reaches those who need them the most.

Governor Daniel Fernando emphasized the importance of aid distribution to reinforce Bulacan’s commitment to supporting disaster-stricken communities.

“For Bulacan, it is a priority to lend a helping hand to our fellow Filipinos during their time of need. This financial assistance is a testament to our solidarity and compassion, and we hope it brings some relief to those affected by these unfortunate events,” he said.
