Shoppers will find something delightful at Anko’s new store—affordable, stylish essentials for every room in their home. From sleek kitchenware and cozy bedding to smart storage solutions, toys for kids and pets, arts and crafts, tech, and even makeup, Anko is the ultimate one-stop shop designed to brighten everyday living.
A slice of Australian home and lifestyle culture has just landed. Anko’s first-ever store in the Philippines opened at Glorietta 2, Makati City, on Nov. 7, 2024. The grand opening was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Kmart Group managing director Ian Bailey, Anko Global CEO Arjun Puri, Anko Philippines country manager Rachel Turner, Ayala Land, Inc. senior vice president for leasing and hospitality Mariana Zobel de Ayala, and Ayala Malls COO Paul Birkett.
The event also featured Anko’s exclusive Christmas bag, designed by Filipino artist Jamie Bauza. A blend of Anko’s modern style and Filipino artistry, the bag celebrates family and togetherness. Bauza shared, “Creating this Christmas bag for Anko allowed me to infuse Filipino spirit into a global brand, blending traditional elements with Anko’s modern style. It’s a piece that celebrates the Filipino love for family and togetherness, especially during the holidays.”
Anko, a beloved brand known in Australia and New Zealand for stylish yet affordable home essentials, has now brought its signature designs and functionality to Filipino families. Part of the Kmart Group and owned by Wesfarmers Ltd, Anko aims to inspire Filipinos to create beautiful, functional spaces they’ll love to call home.
Bailey summed up Anko’s mission: “Deliver consistent product quality, offer exceptional value compared to competitors, and focus on everyday household essentials that truly make a difference.” This philosophy, already embraced in the ANZ region, is one they are eager to share with the Philippines.
Both Puri and Turner emphasized how Anko’s expansion aligns with the Philippines' family-oriented culture, noting the brand’s potential to enhance homes with affordable, quality products. As Puri shared, “We are delighted to introduce Anko to the Philippines, a country that shares Australia’s deep appreciation for family and home. Anko’s expansion reflects this shared value, bringing affordable, quality products to enhance everyday living. We look forward to Anko becoming a meaningful part of Filipino homes, where family moments are treasured.” Turner echoed this excitement, emphasizing Anko's potential to reach even more homes in a country of over a hundred million.
Anko’s success lies in its unique approach—designing in-house and working directly with manufacturers to offer trendy, high-quality items without the typical retail markups. Through its “Kaya Bagay Tayo” campaign, Anko underscores its commitment to becoming the perfect match for Filipino lifestyles.
