Over P5.7M worth of shabu seized in Zamboanga City buy-bust

Government anti-narcotics operatives confiscated on Sunday, Nov. 10, around P5,780,000 worth of shabu following the arrest of two drug suspects during a buy-bust operation in Zamboanga City.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said Nasser I. Usman, 63 and Fraiser Sahibaini, 44, were collared at around 7:33 p.m. in Vicente Chiong, Martha Drive, Santa Barbara town.

Aside from shabu concealed in 17 pieces of heat-sealed transparent sachets, the operatives also took possession of the bundles of money with one genuine P1,000 on top used as the buy-bust money.

Usman and Sahibaini face charges for violation of Section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs), Article II of Republic Act (RA) 9165 otherwise known as the “The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.’’

The operation was carried out by the PDEA Zamboanga City Office, Regional Drug Enforcement Unit 9, and the City Intelligence Unit of the Zamboanga City Police Office.
