The Malabon City local government received 21 new rescue boats from the "Mang Ondoy" rescue hub on Monday, November 11.

According to the city’s Public Information Office, the donation includes one large "OndoyBoat" rubber boat, 20 smaller boats, and 50 paddles, which will be utilized in emergency operations to ensure the safety of every Malabueño.
The initiative is part of the city’s ongoing preparations for Tropical Storm Nika and other potential calamities that may affect the area.
Mayor Jeannie Sandoval and Councilor Edward Nolasco led the program.
Sandoval expressed her gratitude to Mang Ondoy rescue hub for the additional support.
“Maraming salamat Aaron Sy and Stephen Dizon ng Mang Ondoy Rescue Hub sa pagbibigay ng karagdagang kagamitan na siguradong makakatulong sa ating disaster and emergency response (Many thanks to Aaron Sy and Stephen Dizon of Mang Ondoy Rescue Hub for providing additional equipment that will undoubtedly strengthen our disaster and emergency response),” she said.
The program was also attended by city councilors and personnel from the city’s Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO).
