Actress and entrepreneur Lovi Poe is all about embracing beauty and self-love. Beginning her career in the limelight at a young age, Lovi's journey to self-love was not an easy path.

The 33-year-old actress recalled that during her early acting days, she faced several rejections for projects due to her physical appearance.

"When I started in the industry, I received a lot of flak because of my skin color. I was too dark. I remember, when I did my first TV series, they would put a lot of foundation on me to make me look lighter," Lovi said during the launch of her makeup line "Love, You by Lovi Poe."

Despite the challenges and bad comments about her appearance, Lovi kept her head high and slowly learned to accept herself. During the interview, Lovi added that she was one of those hard-headed kids who refused to put on makeup.

"But I was one of those stubborn kids. I was hard-headed. I put my foot down even when I was young and just refused the foundation on my skin. I decided I was just going to embrace myself for who I am," Lovi added.

Being in the showbiz industry for almost a decade, Lovi eventually learned to embrace herself and learned the real meaning of beauty through her journey.

"My definition of beauty when I was young sa ngayon is malayo na, kasi before hindi mo naman maiiwasan kapag bata ka na parang may certain person ka na gusto mo gayahin in my case si britney spears yun. But now yung defention ko ng beauty is from within, kasi when I see someone who has an aura na parang happiness and joy. I find that for me beautiful," Lovi said.

"We should not forget what makes up unique and different are what will make us shine," she added.

Expanding her horizons

After the success of her film, "Guilty Pleasure", Lovi is now expanding her knowledge into business.

In partnership with Ready Set Glow, Lovi launched her makeup line called "Love, You by Lovi Poe."

Beyond just cosmetics, this new collection celebrates individuality and promotes beauty standards that embrace all skin tones, embodying a powerful message of love and self-acceptance.

“I didn’t expect to have my own make-up line,” said a tearful Lovi. “Finally, it’s real. I’m really excited that it’s finally out. I just couldn’t expect everything to happen like this. I’m just simply thankful," Lovi said.

Her makeup line includes Statement Setter Brow Trio, and Skin Poetry Scented Body Shimmer Spray. Myself, and I Lippie and Heart-in-Bloom Cream and Powder Blush Duo.
