2 Koreans arrested for robbery, coercion, grave threat in Parañaque City


 

Two Korean nationals were arrested by members of the Parañaque City Police for robbery, coercion and grave threat after a complaint was filed against them by their compatriot on Nov. 10.

Southern Police District Director Brig. Gen. Bernard Yang said the suspects, identified as alias “Geon,” 28, and alias “Park,” 28, were arrested by members of the Parañaque City Police Tambo Substation at around 4:58 a.m.

Yang said the victim, identified as alias “Changyeon,” 35, reported that he was robbed by the suspects of P140,000 cash and a cellular phone.

Based on the police investigation, the victim claimed that he allowed Geon, who is unemployed, to temporary stay at his condominium in Barangay Tambo, Parañaque City.

The victim said that on November 9, Geon allowed his accomplice, Park to enter his condominium and assaulted him and forcibly took his wallet containing P40,000 cash, cellular phone, and his casino VIP card.

Changyeon added that the suspects, armed with a kitchen knife, coerced him to reveal the PIN code of his VIP card and withdrew P100,000 from it.

The victim, who managed to escape, reported the incident to the Parañaque City Police Tambo substation, which led to the arrest of the suspects.

Alias Geon and Park are now detained at the Parañaque City Police custodial facility and were charged for robbery, coercion, and grave threat.
