In his Proclamation, signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on Oct. 28, the President said extending the Architecture Week established in 1971 to a month-long celebration would draw attention to the architects' contribution towards planned urban growth, environmental planning, and overall social progress.

"There is a need to... [extend] the observance of the Architecture Week to provide an extensive platform to promote the discipline, recognize the contributions of Filipino architects, and highlight the architecture's role in urban planning, sustainability, and social progress," he wrote.

Marcos likewise noted how the Philippines, renowned for its architectural legacy and vibrant contemporary designs, is a key player in the global architectural arena through the preservation of cultural heritage and advancement of sustainable design practices.

With this, the President tasked the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) together with accredited architectural organizations to lead the yearly observance of the Philippine Architecture Festival - National Architecture Month.

All other government offices including state universities and colleges, local government units, nongovernment organizations, and the private sector, are urged to actively participate and support the said observation.
