Army aids family of slain NPA rebel


ILOILO CITY – The Army 12th Infantry Battalion has facilitated assistance to the family of a New People’s Army rebel killed in a clash in Libacao, Aklan province.

Alvin Panoy from Lemery town in Iloilo province was the lone casualty in the evening encounter between the 12th IB  and the NPA in Libacao on Oct. 31.

Panoy’s family received financial and logistical assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development-6 under Regional Director Arwin O. Razo, provincial government of Iloilo, and the local government unit  of Lemery.

“We are grateful for the support of our partner-agencies in providing immediate assistance to Panoy’s family,” said Lt. Col.  Vicel Jan Garsuta, 82nd IB commanding officer.

The 12th IB facilitated the return of Panoy’s remains to his family in Lemery from the encounter site in Aklan.
