The Far Eastern University Cheering Squad is scheduled to perform last in its title-retention campaign when the UAAP Season 87 Cheerdance Competition fires off on Dec. 1 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
The development came after the performance order was determined during the drawing of lots held Wednesday, Nov. 6.
FEUCS head coach Randell San Gregorio was thrilled after getting the eight and last spot in the competition that is expected to draw a sold-out crowd.
“Happy kasi ‘yun ‘yung gusto namin [to perform eighth]. Kasi sa nine years ko sa CDC, hindi pa ko nag-eighth,” said San Gregorio.
“Alam na nila ‘yung feeling na tumapak sa mats and it should bring them confidence. Pero other than that, every year, new team, new theme. Hindi naman kami nag-uulit. Siguro ang pinakamaganda nilang madadala sa competition is nakapag-laro na sila; yun lang,” he added.
Apart from retaining the crown, FEU also guns for a 22nd podium finish. They currently hold the most number of podium finishes.
