Two suspects surrendered more than P7 million worth of high-grade marijuana in a joint buy-bust operation conducted by the Mandaluyong City Police, Eastern Police District (EPD), and Marikina City Police in Mandaluyong on Monday, November 4.
The police identified the suspects as John Fitz Jerard Salazar and Alison Mae Reyes. The two were nabbed inside their apartment in Barangay Plainview.
Police recovered 5 kilograms of kush worth P7,500,000 and the buy-bust money worth P50,000.
“This operation is a testament to the commitment of Team PaMaMariSan to cleanse the community of illegal drugs. By working side by side, we have been able to disrupt the distribution of dangerous drugs in our community, making it a safer place for everyone to live, work and do business.” EPD OIC PCol. Villamor Tuliao said.
He added that an investigation is still ongoing to determine the suspects' other accomplices.
Salazar and Reyes are currently detained at the Mandaluyong Police Custodial Facility and will be facing multiple charges, primarily for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act 2002.
