CAMP ADDURU, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – The Police Regional Office-2 said “Undas” on Nov. 1 and 2 in Cagayan Valley was generally peaceful.
“We are pleased to report that this year’s observance of Undas 2024 in Cagayan Valley was orderly and peaceful. I would like to extend my gratitude to the Gallant Valley Cops, local government units, other law enforcement agencies, force multipliers, and community members for their vigilance and cooperation," Police Brig. Marallag attributed this achievement to the maximized police presence in strategic areas in the region, close coordination with local authorities, and community cooperation.
He added that the establishment of 290 public assistance desks and the implementation of rules and regulations inside 278 public and private cemeteries in the five provinces in the region yielded immediate detection and confiscation of contraband and zero criminal incidents.
Twenty-seven banned items such as pointed and bladed weapons, alcoholic drinks, and playing cards were confiscated in Cagayan, Isabela, and Santiago City.
Police recorded 149, 917 people visiting cemeteries in the region from Oct. 29 to Nov. 3.
