MPD announces successful monitoring of week-long COC, CONA filing

The Manila Police District (MPD) announced a successful monitoring of the week-long filing of certificate for candidacy and and certificate of nomination and acceptance (CONA) for the midterm polls in 2025.

"The City of Manila has been peaceful and orderly through the heightened security coverage of the MPD under the leadership of Brigadier General Arnold Thomas Ibay," the MPD said.

It added that the seamless eight-day filing of COCs and CONAs from October 1 to 8 in the city succeeded through the collaborative effort of the Comelec, other government agencies, and other stakeholders.

More than 600 MPD personnel were deployed in various areas of the city to provide traffic, area, mobile security, crowd control, civil disturbance management, and the District Reactionary Standby Support Force.

The MPD assured the public that all precautions are in place, units of the district on high alert and prepared to respond swiftly to any incidents that may arise during the electoral period.

“We attribute the success of this event to the preparations made by our unit commanders, the hard work of our personnel on the ground, and the cooperation of the stakeholders”, Ibay said.
