Marcos appoints 1 of judges who acquitted de Lima of drug charges to Sandiganbayan


President Marcos has appointed the judge, one of those who acquitted former senator Leila de Lima in her drug-related case, as associate justice of the Sandiganbayan.

Malacañang confirmed that Marcos had designated Judge Gener Gito into the position on Oct. 8.

In a letter signed by Marcos dated Oct. 8, Gito will replace Oscar Herrera Jr.

Gito obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science degree at the University of Batangas before finishing Bachelor of Laws at the San Sebastian College-Recoletos.

He also worked at the Court of Appeals and Senate, and has been an associate partner in different law offices.
