Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan and Vice Mayor John Marvin "Yul Servo" Nieto expressed their utmost gratitude to President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, Jr. and House Speaker Martin Romualdez for always including Manila when it comes to the provision of financial assistance, especially for the marginalized sectors.

The lady mayor also thanked the president and house speaker for trusting her in the job of making sure that their aid to the families of Manila reaches the recipients directly and very quickly.

Lacuna-Pangan was assisted in the distribution of monetary assistance by the Manila-Department of Social Welfare (DSW) and candidates for councilors Chairman Bong Marzan, the brother of Jay Marzan, who served as city administrator to the late Manila Mayor Fred Lim.

The distribution was held at the Nazareth Covered Court with thousands of families from Sampaloc as recipients of the Ayuda para sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP),

AKAP was extended to Manila residents with the help of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), President Marcos Jr., and Speaker Romualdez.

Lacuna-Pangan disclosed that she did not hesitate to tell them that the residents need cash aid when she was asked how the national government can assist the residents of Manila.

The mayor said that the president and speaker immediately responded and even assured her that they would not hesitate to help, knowing that their help would be handled properly and given directly to the intended beneficiaries expeditiously.

"Hindi ho ako mahihiyang manghingi dahil para naman sa mga kababayan ko.  Gusto ko na maramdaman ninyo ang tunay at totoong pagmamahal... alam nyo po, ang Asenso Manileño, trabaho lang nang trabaho para sa serbisyong diretsong mararamdaman ninyo (I will not be ashamed to ask help for my residents. I want you to feel the real and true love. The Asenso Manileño is continuously working to serve you)," Lacuna stated.

"Ang programang ito ay simbolo ng kalinga ng pamahalaan para sa mga kapwa nating Manileño. Maraming salamat po sa inyong patuloy na tiwala at pagmamahal (This program is a symbol of the government's protection for our fellow Manileños. Thank you very much for your continued trust and love)," she added.
