Baguio Mayor Magalong, slate file candidacies


BAGUIO CITY – Mayor Benjamin Magalong here and his slate under the Good Governance Get Involved party on Tuesday, October 8, filed their Certificates of Candidacy for the May 2025 elections.

Magalong and his team conducted a city-wide bike ride followed by an indigenous ritual led by Baguio IPMR Maximo Edwin Jr. and an assembly with supporters at Sunshine Park before filing their COC. 

Also filing their COCs were Councilor Isabelo “Poppo” Cosalan Jr. for congressman, reelectionist Vice Mayor Faustino Olowan and Councilors Jose Molintas, Peter Fianza, and neophytes Fred Bagbagen, SK Federation President John Rhey Mananeng, Lower Quirino Hill Barangay Captain Van Dicang, South Central Aurora Hill Barangay Captain Levy Orcales,  Paolo Salvosa, Pam Cariño, Spencer Basbas, Yuri Kiaco Weygan, and Jun Orca for councilor.

Magalong and slate are running under a seven-point core agenda – environment, land use, and energy; climate and disaster resilience; urban regeneration; youth empowerment; economic recovery and development; smart city management, and good governance.

Other candidates who filed COCs on Tuesday were Councilor Benny Bomogao for mayor and Anendido Tan and Murphy Maspil and reelectionist Vladimir Cayabas for councilor.
