Cops net 57 most wanted persons in Caraga


BUTUAN CITY – Police nabbed 57 most wanted persons in a two-day Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operation in the Caraga region from October 3 to 4.

Police Regional Office-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Alan M. Nazarro said the Surigao del Sur Police Provincial Office (PPO) captured 15 MWPs, Agusan del Norte PPO, 12; Agusan del Sur PPO, 11; Surigao del Norte PPO, 10; Butuan City Police Office, seven, and Regional Mobile Force Battalion, one.

Among those apprehended was Bert in Mainit, Surigao del Norte for rape. 

No bail was recommended for the suspect whose warrant of arrest dated February 28, 2024 was issued by the Surigao del Norte Regional Trial Court Branch 30 based in Surigao City, Surigao del Norte.

Nazarro commended police units for a successful SACLEO.

“I laud our police forces on the ground for keeping our region safe by apprehending these suspects charged with various felonies or offenses,” he said. “I assure the public that these victories will continue.”

Meanwhile, police seized suspected shabu and marijuana worth P7.4 million in anti-illegal drug operations in Butuan City on Wednesday, October 2.

PRO-13 Regional Public Information Office chief Police Major Jennifer S. Ometer said that four suspected drug pushers were arrested. Suspects face drug-related cases, she added.
