Cagayan, Quezon candidates tender COCs


Candidates from Cagayan Valley and Quezon have filed their Certificates of Candidacy in the mid-term elections next year before the Commission on Elections.

In Cagayan, Vice Gov. Melvin Boy Vargas Jr. and Dr. Maria Zarah Rose de Guzman-Lara submitted their COCs for governor on Wednesday, October 2.

Also submitting COCs were Lara’s running mate Cagayan third district Board Member Leonides Fausto; former Gov. Edgar R. Lara for congressman of the second district;

Bishop Philip Pattaguan, Tuguegarao City Councilor Imogen Claire Callangan, and Leonides Fausto Jr., board members, third district; Arvin Garcia, board member, second district;

Former Mayor Jefferson Soriano and running mate Vice Mayor Bienvenido de Guzman Tuguegarao City; and reelectionist third District Rep. Joseph “Jojo” Lara, husband of Dr. Lara.

In Isabela, reelectionist Isabela Gov. Rodito T. Albano III; reelectionist first district Rep. and House Deputy Speaker Antonio "Tonypet" T. Albano; and reelectionist Cauayan City Mayor Caesar Jaycee Dy Jr. 

Gayeta files COC

In Sariaya, Quezon, Marivic Gayeta, wife of Mayor Marcelo Gayeta, who is on his third and final term, filed her COC Sunday morning, in a bid to succeed her husband.

NEOPHYTE candidate Marivic Gayeta hopes to succeed her husband, Marcelo, as mayor of Sariaya, Quezon.

Mrs. Gayeta and her slate attended Mass before filing their COCs.

If elected, she vowed to sustain her husband’s programs on livelihood, economic development, agriculture, tourism, education, social services, and health.

More candidates from the three provinces are expected to filed their COCs in the last two days of the filing period.
