2 men shot dead in Quezon

SARIAYA, Quezon – Two men were shot dead by gunmen onboard a motorcycle while standing on a waiting shed in Sitio Mangga, Barangay Lutucan Malabag, this town, on Saturday night, October 5.

Police identified the victims as Bernardo Claveria Maranan, alias Tibor, and June Valverde Regalado, alias Asim, 28, both residents of Sitio Padillo, Barangay Concepcion, here.

They sustained multiple bullet wounds and died on the spot. 

The gunmen fled and a follow-investigation on the incident is under way.

Farmer, Canadian electrocuted

A farmer and a Canadian were electrocuted in Lopez and Mauban, Quezon last week.

Police identified the victims as Jerome Clete Bequillo of Lopez and Ismael, a Canadian, of Mauban.

Bequillo was transporting copra when he accidentally touched an electric wire hanging on a streetlight pole on Saturday morning in Barangay Canda Ibaba.

The victim was taken by his mother to a hospital where he was declared dead.

Ismael was electrocuted while repairing an electrical wire inside his house Barangay San Lorenzo, Mauban on Friday afternoon, October 4.

He was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.
