Miss Universe Philippines second runner-up Ahtisa Manalo running for municipal councilor

CANDELARIA, Quezon – Miss Universe Philippines second-runner up Ahtisa Manalo is running for councilor of this town.

The 27-year-old Manalo, who filed her Certificate of Candidacy through a representative on Saturday, October 5, joined the slate of reelectionist Mayor George “Ogie” Suayan.

Suayan's running mate is former Vice Mayor Ferdinand Maliwanag.

Suayan vowed to continue social services, tourism, education, livelihood, and infrastructure projects that would enable this town to become a city.

Other candidates in Suayan’s ticket are Emersion Sio, son of Bishop Ricardo and Lucena City councilor Beth, Rowen Lamoca, Hazel Abdon, Napoleon Dizon, Maila Escamillas, Marinelo Emralino, and Mark Raymundo.

Suayan's and Maliwanag’s opponents are the uncle and brother of his wife Emma Boongaling.
