The government of Parañaque City, in collaboration with the Center for Children with Special Needs, formalized a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Developmental Pediatricians and Board Certified Behavior Analysts on October 3.

Mayor Eric Olivarez stated that the purpose of this MOA is to provide free assessments for children who are at risk or have been diagnosed with developmental delays.

The signing ceremony took place at the Sto. Nino gymnasium, with Councilor Marvin Santos and CSN Center Administrator Nessie Baculo in attendance as witnesses.

Following the MOA signing, the city government distributed 250 letters of guarantee to beneficiaries for the free assessments.

Mayor Olivarez noted that the CSN was established during the tenure of former mayor and current First District Representative Edwin Olivarez, addressing the needs of residents seeking appropriate treatment for their children with special needs.

He emphasized that the CSN is the first of its kind in Metro South and the second in the greater Manila area.

The center has provided assistance to children with neurodevelopmental disorders, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, and Cerebral Palsy.

Additionally, the mayor highlighted that the CSN offers essential support and services such as occupational therapy, speech therapy, physical therapy, ABA therapy, and music therapy, aimed at enhancing the well-being of these children and empowering them to lead meaningful, productive, and fulfilling lives as valued members of society.
