Female bank accountant arrested for qualified theft in Pasay

A female bank accountant was arrested by members of the Pasay city police substation 9 for qualified theft amounting to almost P3.7-million.

Brig. Gen. Bernard Yang, said Pasay city police chief, Col. Samuel Pabonita reported the arrest of alias Jinky at around 3:30 a.m. on October 4.

Police report showed that a bank teller identified as alias Glycel told to her bank branch manager, Esmeralda, that she was directed by the suspect to make a deposit transaction through PayMaya amounting to P3,696,970.000 into three accounts provided by Jinky .

Pabonita said Glycel reported the incident to Esmeralda for failure of the suspect to remit the P3,696,970.000.

Esmeralda upon learning the incident checked and discovered the fraudulent transaction on October 3 at their branch in Newport World Resort in Barangay 183.

The bank branch manager immediately brought the suspect at the police Substation 9 and filed a complaint of qualified theft.

Police said four bank cash transaction slips reflecting the amount was presented that led to the arrest of the suspect.
