As part of its efforts to reach learners in far-flung areas, the Office of the Vice President (OVP), through its Cagayan Valley Satellite Office, distributed over 2,000 bags to students from different parts of the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) and Nueva Vizcaya this week.
According to the OVP, 1,353 students from 13 far-flung schools in Kalinga received PagbaBAGo bags which contained school supplies and other essentials, including dental kits.
It likewise distributed PagbaBAGo bags to students in Quezon and Villaverde in Nueva Vizcaya. The OVP said 187 needy students from Ernesto Lapan Elementary School each received a bag while 509 bags were distributed to students from Runruno Elementary School.
In a Facebook post, the OVP-Cagayan Valley Satellite Office hoped that the bags would inspire the students to study harder.
"Ang inisyatiba na ito ay hindi lamang nagbibigay ng agarang suporta at hinihikayat ang mga mag-aaral na magsikap para sa kahusayan sa akademiko (This initiative not only provides immediate support but also encourages students to strive for academic excellence)," it wrote.
Meanwhile, the OVP said it will continue its efforts to Filipinos in all parts of the country.
"Patuloy na magiging inspirasyon ng OVP ang ating mga kababayang Pilipino upang pagbutihin at mas palawakin pa ang pagbibigay ng serbisyo sa mga kababayan nating lubos na nangangailangan (Our fellow Filipinos will continue to inspire us to do better and bring our services to those in need)," it said.
