Palawan ranks 13th best island in the world by renowned travel list


Palawan has been named the 13th Best Island in the World and fifth in Asia by Travel + Leisure in its 2024 rankings, reinforcing its status as a premier travel destination, the Department of Tourism (DOT) said.

This recognition highlights the island's breathtaking natural beauty and rich cultural heritage, captivating travelers from around the globe.

Palawan’s stunning landscapes, marked by iconic limestone cliffs, serene lagoons, and lush rainforests, attract adventure seekers and nature enthusiasts alike.

Among its attractions, the island boasts the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, showcasing the Philippines' unique ecological treasures and commitment to environmental preservation.

Palawan's dedication to sustainable tourism also sets it apart, offering eco-friendly tours and fostering meaningful interactions with indigenous communities, such as the Batak and Tagbanua.

These initiatives not only enrich travelers' experiences but also promote cultural appreciation and environmental conservation.
