Man arrested in Parañaque City for illegal firearm possession


 

A 24-year-old man was arrested during a search warrant operation targeting illegal firearm possession in Parañaque City on Wednesday, October 30.

The individual, known by the alias "Enrico," was taken into custody at approximately 4:06 a.m. by a joint team comprising officers from the Tambo Police Substation, the Station Investigation and Detective Management Section, and the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit.

The operation was conducted under a search warrant authorized by Judge Jaime M. Guray, the Executive Judge of the Regional Trial Court Branch 260 within the National Capital Judicial Region.

According to police reports, the items seized from Enrico included a .380 caliber pistol, seven rounds of ammunition, a magazine for the .380 caliber pistol, and an improvised 12-gauge shotgun (sumpak) along with two rounds of ammunition.

Following his arrest, the suspect was held at the Parañaque Police custodial facility and faces charges for violating Republic Act 10591, known as the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
