Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna Pangan served at least 34,000 residents through her city-wide one-day “Kalinga sa Maynila” activity.
The mayor personally visited a barangay in each of the city’s six districts, including Brgy. 118 Covered Court; Laguna Ext. corner Perfecto Street; Brgy. 274, Barcelona Street, San Nicolas; 5 O’clock Basketball Court, Honradez Street, Sampaloc; F. Torres Street (near Oro-B Street), San Andres and; Brgy. 905, Posadas Street (Rd 4), Punta, Sta. Ana.
She, along with the Manila City Hall’s bureaus and units, delivered services such as medical and dental care, free massages, and other programs as well as social welfare support.
"We strived to bring the programs closer to Manileños, making their everyday lives easier," said the mayor.
Launched in 2022, Lacuna-Pangan’s "Kalinga sa Maynila" aims to bring basic services directly to each barangay.
To date, the program has reached and assisted over 500 city barangays.
Myrna Florencio of Barangay 274 expressed her gratitude towards the lady mayor.
“We are thankful for Mayor Lacuna’s initiative. Now, we don’t have to seek help elsewhere—she brought it to us,” Florencio stated.
