The Philippine men's baseball team scored a commanding 15-0 win over Singapore to advance to the super round of the 14th BFA East Asia Baseball Cup Wednesday, Oct. 30, at the Villages in Clark, Pampanga.
The Filipino batters flashed pure dominance, finishing off the Singaporeans in just five innings – notching six runs in each of the fourth and fifth frames – to inch closer to their fifth consecutive and seventh overall crown.
Carrying a 2-0 record, the Philippines will have a rest day before entering the next round this Friday, Nov. 1, at the same venue.
They crushed the Indonesians, 13-1, on the opening day.
The Filipinos scored two runs in the opening frame then added one in the third before exploding in the fourth and fifth frames.
Meanwhile, Hong Kong and Thailand tallied their second win after beating their separate rival in Group A.
Hong Kong edged Cambodia, 5-2, while Thailand ripped Malaysia, 31-0.
