Tulong San Juaneño: San Juan allocates P1M for STS 'Kristine' hit Camarines Sur


The San Juan city government on Tuesday, October 29, has allocated P1 million to Severe Tropical Storm Kristine hit Camarines Sur as part of its efforts in assisting provinces battered by the storm last week that left dozens of people dead and caused hundreds of millions worth of damages.

"This financial aid reflects the strong bond between San Juan and Camarines Sur, underscoring their commitment to support one another in times of need," San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora said.

The leaders of San Juan City and Camarines Sur forged a sisterhood agreement in October of 2022, strengthening its ties to one another and pledging assistance to both localities in times of disasters and calamities.

Zamora and Camarines Sur Gov. Luigi Villafuerte signed the agreement.

In the agreement, both local government units (LGUs) agreed to cooperate and exchange best practices in the fields of tourism, trade, commerce, industry, science and technology, culture and arts, urban planning and development, education. sports development, environment protection, public health, and social services.

A Joint Technical Working Group was also created composed of members from both LGUs to prepare and recommend a program of activities.
