The Las Piñas city government reaffirmed its commitment to youth empowerment and public safety as it hosted the “Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo” program organized by its City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) and Local Youth Development Office.
Las Piñas City Mayor Imelda Aguilar said the event, which was attended by youths from the city’s different barangays, was held at the Mayor Nene Aguilar Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Office Building in Barangay Talon Dos.
PMSgt. Ivan Francis Gaon, chief clerk of the Station Community Affairs Section (SCAS) of the Las Piñas City Police Station and PCol. Vicente Raquion of the Las Piñas Anti-Drug Abuse Office served as guest speakers of the program, delivering talks that underscored the youth's role in keeping their communities drug-free and safe from terrorism.
The mayor explained the discussions focused on the dangers of drug addiction, the significance of self-awareness, and how the youth can actively contribute to local anti-drug and anti-terrorism initiatives.
