TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Eighteen dried marijuana bricks and stalks valued at P2.1 million were found on a riverbank in Purok 6, Bulanao, this city, on Friday, Oct. 25.

“A concerned citizen working as a construction crew at the Chico River flood control project discovered the half sack of suspected marijuana bricks while he was fishing,” said Police Master Sgt. Prodencio Atas, spokesperson of the Tabuk City police station.
Atas said the concerned citizen immediately reported his discovery to the police patrolling and monitoring the Chico River.
The contraband wrapped in transparent tape was turned over to the Kalinga Police Provincial Office for documentation and proper disposition.
Atas said follow-up investigation to determine who owns the stash is ongoing.
A brick of dried marijuana is worth of P120,000, according to the Dangerous Drug Board.
