The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said that the firearms procured and accepted by the agency conform to the standards set by the government.
Recently, the PDEA Inspection Committee noted that it conducted a comprehensive inspection and functional testing of 44,000 and 22,000 rounds of caliber .45 and caliber 5.56 ammunition, respectively, by way of random sampling.
After the careful inspection, the PDEA Inspection Committee stated that the delivered items were found to be "compliant with the required quantity and technical specifications."
"The conduct of inspection and acceptance of all delivered goods and services procured by a government agency is prescribed under the COA (Commission on Audit) rules and regulations. As a result, the project has been accepted following its conformity to the contract standards," it added.
Held at the Armscor Indoor Firing Range in Marikina City, the inspection was spearheaded by PDEA Deputy Director General for Operations and Chairman of the Inspection Committee Renato Gumban.
The inspection was also witnessed by the team from COA and other authorized government representatives with the assistance of the shooting range personnel.
