Suzuki Philippines is set to highlight its commitment to sustainability and innovation at the 9th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) from October 24 to 27, 2024, at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. Under the theme "Future City," Suzuki will feature eco-friendly mobility solutions and cutting-edge technologies aimed at addressing global environmental challenges.

Commitment to carbon neutrality

Suzuki is advancing its carbon neutrality efforts with alternatives to traditional fuels. In addition to electric vehicles (EVs), the company is working on biogas-powered internal combustion engines and ethanol-mixed fuels, aligning with the growing demand for greener mobility solutions.

A key initiative is Suzuki’s biogas project in India, where cow dung, an abundant agricultural by-product, is refined and compressed into methane. The project is part of Suzuki’s strategy to reduce CO2 emissions and create sustainable mobility alternatives.

Expanding beyond traditional transportation

In collaboration with SkyDrive Inc., the brand is developing a flying car aimed at providing emission-free aerial transportation. Production of the vehicle has started in Iwata City, Japan, signaling Suzuki’s vision for future mobility.

They are also working with TIER IV, an autonomous driving technology company, to develop self-driving vehicles. This goes towards Suzuki’s goal of making autonomous transportation a reality.

In the agricultural sector, Suzuki has partnered with M2 Labo to create the Mobile Mover, a robotic device that assists in transporting crops and is designed to ease the burden on farmers.

Suzuki has ventured into lunar exploration by partnering with ispace, inc., a Tokyo-based company. Suzuki contributed its structural analysis expertise to the development of the landing gear for the Hakuto-R lunar lander, which aims for a second moon landing in December 2024. It is a collaboration that demonstrates Suzuki’s versatility in applying its automotive engineering skills to space exploration.

Sustainable solutions for the Philippine market

In the Philippines, Suzuki is already offering greener vehicle options. The Ertiga Hybrid and XL7 Hybrid Black Upgrade are part of the company’s efforts to provide efficient, low-emission cars for Filipino drivers. These models deliver a balance of performance and reduced environmental impact.

Additionally, Suzuki has introduced the Auto Gear Shift (AGS) system in the S-Presso and Dzire models. AGS combines the convenience of automatic transmission with the fuel efficiency of a manual, providing a blend of comfort and eco-friendliness.

For off-road enthusiasts, Suzuki’s iconic Jimny models, including the newly introduced 5-Door variant, come with ALLGrip Pro technology. Known for their ability to handle challenging terrains, these models continue to appeal to adventure seekers.

Suzuki’s PIMS 2024 booth offers more than just vehicle showcases. Visitors can test drive the Jimny 5-Door, XL7 Hybrid Black Upgrade, and S-Presso AGS. For families, there will be fun games, exclusive Suzuki merchandise, and a Suzuki Safety Scouts Corner, where children can learn about road safety through educational activities.

With a focus on eco-friendly mobility and cutting-edge technologies, Suzuki reaffirms its position as a forward-thinking leader in the automotive industry. The public can experience Suzuki’s innovations from October 24 to 27 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.
