No match at all: Motorcycle rider dies after colliding with a 12-wheeler in Sampaloc, Manila

A motorcycle rider died after colliding with a 12-wheeler truck in Sampaloc, Manila, on Thursday, October 24.

The Manila Police District (MPD) identified the victim as Adelo Domingo, a resident of Caloocan City.

Based on the initial investigation, the motorcycle rider was counterflowing the traffic along the northbound lane of the NLEX Connector Road in Sampaloc, Manila, around 1:20 a.m.

The trailer truck, driven by Ginelo Repala, was also traversing the same lane. 

He said the motorcycle rider suddenly appeared in front of him near Loyola Toll Exit and hit the left side of his truck.

Due to the strong impact, the motorcycle rider fell on the road and sustained severe injuries. 

At around 2:15 a.m., the Lifeline NLEX ambulance arrived at the scene and rushed the motorcycle rider to the Ospital ng Sampaloc but he was declared dead on arrival.

Authorities said the trailer truck driver is under police custody for further investigation.
